Imagine being able to do anything you wanted: fly, teleport, explore other worlds. Wouldn't that be amazing? I can guarantee that it is because I know the secret.
For more than six years, I’ve been practicing the art of filmmaking and VFX, the craft of making people believe in things that aren’t real. I, Christiaan van Rhijn, started creating movie magic in my room as a teenager, and over time, I gradually gained more and more knowledge about the art. Eventually, I began working at a green screen studio in my neighborhood. There, I was given access to a space with no boundaries where I could place myself anywhere I wanted. And so I did. I traveled to the desert, to the moon, and deep into the realms of my imagination.
During this time, I had the opportunity to work on real-world projects with clients, which helped me develop my communication skills and learn how to express my creative ideas effectively.
Meanwhile, I pursued a degree in graphic design, which opened doors for me to intern at some incredible companies. One of my internships was at Planet X, the largest VFX studio in the Netherlands. Over the course of six months, I worked on a variety of films, gaining hands-on experience in high-end visual effects. My second internship was at Studio WhooHoo, a smaller VFX and 3D animation studio. I enjoyed the intimate team dynamic because it allowed me to take on a wider range of tasks, requiring me to develop a broader skill set across different aspects of the craft. After my internship, they've asked me if I want to work at the studio. I said yes. Now I've worked there for more than 2 years.
It's crazy to realize that I have the power to tell any story I want; nothing is too big.
But enough about me. I will continue bringing my dreams to life, and I hope to make yours come true as well.
